Lt Gen Asim Malik appointed as New DG ISI

Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik has been appointed as Country’s Top Spy Agency Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Monday.

The new ISI chief who has replaced Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum, will take charge on September 30.

Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik is currently serving as an Adjutant General at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.

The New DG ISI has previously commanded Pakistan Army Top Corps and Division including the Infantry Division in Balochistan and the Infantry Brigade in Waziristan.

He has also received a Sword of Honor in his course and has served as the chief instructor NDU, as well as an instructor Command and Staff College.

Moreover, Lt Gen Asim Malik had also served as the chief instructor at the National Defence University and as an instructor at the Command and Staff College Quetta.

The new ISI DG is a graduate of Fort Leavenworth in the United States and Royal College of Defence Studies in London.
