According to PIA spokesperson, an engine malfunction warning was received on the way after plane took off.
PIA spokesperson said that the captain of plane skilfully used the emergency braking system to bring the aircraft to a safe stop.
The PIA engineering department dispatched a team from Karachi to Dubai on a flight scheduled for tonight – night between Monday and Tuesday– to address and rectify the technical fault.
In the meantime, the management of the PIA has made arrangements for the passengers. Some of them will be accommodated on PIA flight PK 204 from Dubai to Lahore tonight, while others will be flown from Sharjah to Multan.
Remember that, the Pakistani government decided to privatize the PIA. In a recent twist, the Privatisation Commission extended the bidding deadline by a month, pushing it to October 31, 2024.
The sudden decision to extend the bidding deadline has left companies interested in PIA’s privatisation surprised.
