The Government of Pakistan is all set to finalize a multi-billion-dollar deal to fullfill its energy needs by holding an LNG pipeline deal with Russia.
The move comes after Russian President Vladimir Putin hold meeting with Premier Sharif at the recent SCO summit and offered to develope LNG pipeline infrastructure from Iran to Pakistan, and then to India.

Petroleum Minister Musadik Malik has been assgined with tasked to conduct a study and find suitable options that consider US sanctions on Russia and Iran, reported by national daily.
Currently Pakistan and Russia’s bilateral trade stood at $800 to $900 million annually, and there is an firm plan to increase it to its real potential with $20-$25 billion in the coming years.
Remember that In 2015, Russia and Pakistan agreed to build a 1,100-kilometer pipeline to transport LNG from Karachi to Punjab.
Almost a decade after no working on the project, Pakistan now wants to proceed with the Russian LNG project fulfill its domestic energy needs.
