Punjab Govt ended Rs14 Per Unit Power Relief for Islamabad Consumers

The Government of Punjab has ended the Rs14 per unit relief for the electricity consumers, the Islamabad Electricity Supply Company (IESCO) said in a statement on Wednesday.

The power company iesco said the the consumers will not receive any relief in electricity bills for the month of September.

The electricity company also notified that orders have been issued for a change in billing software.

The subsidy worth Rs45 billion was announced on August 16 by the Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz for Punjab and the federal capital for the months of August and September.

The subsidy was announced for consumers using 201 to 500 units per month. However, the Punjab power consumers would get relief in the next month’s power bills.
