“We are making good progress with the IMF for Board approval in September,” Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said on Wednesday.

Furthermore, the minister assured that all conditions agreed upon with the IMF will be implemented, as discussed in the committee.

The federal minister’s remarks come as the country is so far unable to sign a Letter of Intent (LoI) for making a formal request to the lender’s executive board for considering approval of $7 billion under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) programme.

Remember that on July 13 Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund reached a three-year, $7 billion aid package deal.
