The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has invited bids for the installation of firewalls and web application firewalls (WAF), set to be implemented over the next five years.
The PTA has specified that the next-generation firewalls, designated as Lot A, will be import from China to ensure high security and reliability standards.
The advanced firewalls are designed to identify and block social media IDs from spreading false political propaganda against state institutions, thereby curbing the dissemination of misleading information.
The hardware specifications for Lot A include advanced threat prevention services, URL filtering, application control, advanced sandboxing with malware protection and analysis services, advanced DNS security services, and six virtual firewall systems with client and clientless VPN services.
These firewalls will also come with complete existing security bundles to provide comprehensive protection.
